Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to upgrade a collection of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which operate penstocks controlling movement of ships between the sea and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A sequence of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after long service in a challenging setting. BAE Systems wished to retain all the advantages of electric actuators, so IQ3 actuators have been chosen. เกจวัดแรงดันลม10bar had to be specially adapted by Rotork to overcome problems round confined spaces and troublesome access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes had been mechanically tailored in order that each actuator and gearbox might be operated by hand without entering the confined house. Rotork designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to remove the need for confined space entry.
Actuators within the IQ vary are watertight, offering ingress safety to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have a sophisticated twin stacked show with configurable information logger functionality, and an absolute place sensor offers reliability and accuracy.
